Mick's 1993 Chevy Indy 500 Pace Truck

Our Client Mick sold this truck new at Johnson Motors to Tut's Auto Detailing in New Richmond Wisconsin. Almost 30 years later Mick was able to purchase the truck again. This 34,000 mile orginal pace truck underwent a frame off restoration. With the orginal 5.7 only producing 210 hp it just didn't have the power to keep up on the race track any more. A new 525 hp LS3 backed by a 4l70e was added.
The engine is equipped with a Holley mid-mount serpentine front runner and retrofitted with hidden coil packs under indy 500 decals. The motor was painted a teal to tie in with the exterior colors. The engine bay got a refresh with a custom built intake and radiator tubes. Slosh tubz side filler panels were used and a dual fan set up was also added. The truck has been retrofitted with a brand-new quick-ratio Borgeson power steering box. The frame on this truck was powercoated and then added a full qa1 coilover system. With all the new power we had to make sure it stopped, so we added AZ pro performance big brake kit.
The exterior paint was not touch but just detailed and buffed. The bottom side and the inside of the bed was raptor lined. With only 34,000 miles the interior needed nothing besides a new set of dakota digital gauges to keep up with the new Engine.
A new set of 20 inch wheels were added which replicated the orginal wheels but just in a larger size. A pair of redline tires were also used.
It has a y pipe into a single 3-inch Borla exhaust with a stainless mandrel-bent TIG-welded exhaust. Now this truck handles, stops, and performs better than ever and is ready for the racetruck!
